Advanced Algebra
Course Description: Advanced Algebra is intended to prepare students for Calculus. We assume that the student is already competent in basic algebra. This class is intended to teach topics such as real numbers, exponents, quadratic equations, word problems, general functions, finding roots, graphing, and finally exponential and logarithmic functions.
Course Objectives: By the end of this course,
The student will be able graph and manipulate various functions.
The student will be able to factor a large variety of expressions.
The student will be able to solve and manipulate polynomial and rational functions.
The student will be able to solve and manipulate exponential and logarithmic functions.
Prerequisites: Algebra II
This course is typically offered in the Fall semester and is taught by Dr. Diener. Students are recommended to take this course simultaneously with Trigonometry.
