Chemistry
Course Description: This course serves as an introduction to some of the concepts used in Chemistry. The topics covered by the course include units and measurements, the scientific method, the basic building blocks of matter, the periodic table, atoms, molecules, and potentially an introduction to the formation of matter.
Course Objectives: By the end of this course,
The student will be able to understand basic chemical formulas and how such formulas are measured and quantified.
The student will be able to understand how the scientific method is applied in the context of chemical reactions.
The student will have a basic understanding of the periodic table, atomic weights, and the various ways in which atoms combine to form molecules.
Prerequisites: None
This course is offered on a sporadic basis in response to sufficient student interest and is taught by Dr. Diener.
