Course Description: This course is intended to bring the student to the level of a college Calculus course. Topics include the fundamental theorem of calculus, integration by parts, partial fractions, trigonometric methods, applications of integration, sequences, and series culminating in the use of Taylor series.

Course Objectives: By the end of this course,

  1. The student will be able to integrate any function that has a closed form integration.

  2. The student will be able to use integrals to solve certain types of problems such as those concerning areas between curves and the volumes of solids.

  3. The student will be able to determine whether certain series converge or diverge.

  4. The student will be able to use Taylor series as a method for approximating other functions.

Prerequisites: Calculus II

This course is occasionally offered in the Spring semester and is taught by Dr. Diener.
